What is a WEP Ambassador?
Ambassadors are professional New Yorkers committed to raising funds, promoting awareness, and celebrating the work of WEP. As a community of dedicated volunteers, Ambassadors agree to a one year commitment, participate in a monthly meeting and volunteer approximately 10 hours per month. Ambassadors choose to join one of three teams: EVENTS, ATHLETICS, or SOCIAL MEDIA team. See below for descriptions.
The EVENTS team leads fun and creative fundraisers. From the Foods of India to Bhangra Night, event ideas depend on the creativity of our Ambassadors. The annual fundraising goal is $50,000. The team consists of 2 Team Leaders (one to manage PR) and 6 Members. Members take leadership roles in events of their choice.
The ATHLETICS team run and cycle in races in New York throughout the year. Members raise funds individually and through Team WEP events. The team consists of 2 Team Leaders (one to manage PR), 2 trainers and 20 or more runners. Training sessions are held on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings in Central Park (and Prospect Park in the future). Each member has a personal annual goal of $1000 and runs in four events a year in Team WEP t-shirts. The team’s FY11 goal is $10,000.
The SOCIAL MEDIA team choose to write for the blog, produce the monthly Newsletter, develop WEPinars (6 permonth) with our students in India, or build the online library—interviews with professional women. The team consists of 2 Leaders and 2 (or more) writers per project.
INTERESTED CANDIDATES: Contact info@womenseducationproject.org for the application form and submit with your resume by Sept. 15. (Please include Ambassador Applicant + Specific Team in the heading.) Upon review, you may be invited to an in-person or skype interview.
Thank you for your support of WEP!
