Sudar and College:

After completing my school studies, I got admission in B.Sc. Computer Science to St. Georges’ College. I have selected computer science because I like to work with computers and computer studies are very useful to get a job. My mother and sister are interested in my studies. I attend the workshops conducted at WEP’s Sudar Center on Saturdays. If I don’t go on a particular Saturday, my mother persuades me to attend. The fees at Sudar are low and I am able to pay them without much difficulty.

When I joined the college, I was a bit nervous in the beginning because of the new atmosphere and also the fear of ragging. But soon I was able to overcome this. Sudar helped me a lot in facing the challenges in the college. Workshops in Sudar gave me a lot of confidence. In Sudar, I learnt spoken English. Basic computer classes in Sudar are conducted in a friendly manner and students are encouraged to ask questions. The relationship between teachers and students is close and informal. In Sudar, facilities are provided for students to come and do their work at any time in a calm and quiet atmosphere. I would like the following courses to be offered in Sudar: Hindi, HDCA & PGDCA.

On the WEP-Sudar Alumnae day I participated in skit and song program. I come to Sudar once a week and my favorite snack is sundal and lemon juice. I like to read biographies of great leaders and story books. The library could be expanded with more books on India. I would like to be a model student. My aim is to become a teacher and help my students become good citizens. In Sudar, I learn flash card preparation and writing names of the books. Also, I visit Sevashram and help the inmates there. It is a very useful experience to learn the problems of others, particularly children. I would like more courses, useful for women to get jobs and to expand their knowledge. It is a source of inspiration and help to many women students.

Home:

I live in B.B.Kulam and the neighbors are friendly and helpful. My family members are kind and affectionate. My home is situated in a quiet area and I grow many plants in the garden. I help in cleaning the home and in shopping.

My favorite food items are: Briyani, Tomato rice, ice cream, macaroni, dhal payasam (a sweet dish) prepared by my mother and bread omelet prepared by my sister and the poori I prepare.

Among the many important programmes in the college, I always look forward to the College Day because then I could proudly receive prizes in the presence of my parents. I participate in cultural programmes also. I would like to be the best outgoing student in the college.
