The Red Bangle Award

The Red Bangle Award is presented annually to a woman who “by her life and accomplishment demonstrates the indomitable eloquence of the human spirit.” Inaugurated in 2014, the award recognizes women leaders globally who share WEP’s vision and inspire its students, young Indian women, to higher goals.

This year’s recipients each embody the spirit of the Red Bangle Award through their deep personal commitment and sustained professional work on issues of access to mental health services and educational opportunities through the strategic use of technology. Women’s Education Project is pleased to announce our 2024 Red Bangle Awardees Neha Kirpal, Co-Founder of Amaha Health, and Paige Johnson, VP of Education Marketing at Microsoft. Read the full press release here.

The 2024 Red Bangle Award Ceremony will be hosted on Zoom by our sponsor, EdWeb, and is open to all at no cost. Donations on behalf of your attendance are welcome and appreciated to support the growth of WEP’s Leadership Academies and to continue to support the needs of our students.

About the Forum

WEP’s annual Forum gathers international thought leaders working towards gender equality. Past topics have included NGO collaboration, gender lens investing, technology and change, celebrating first-generation college women, and recently, the pandemic’s disproportionate effects on women and girls, and the importance of supporting leadership and decision-making power of women at the grassroots level to truly resolve social and economic problems.

The Forum will be held in person in New York on the evening of December 9, 6–9 p.m., at Steelcase Worklife Center, 4 Columbus Circle, NY 10019. It will feature a panel discussion: AI and VR as Tools for Access and Inclusion in the Innovation Economy, with Dr. Michael Jabbour, AI Innovation Officer, Microsoft, and Amrutha Vasan, Co-Founder, Inspirit VR, moderated by Siya Raj Purohit, Education GTM Lead, OpenAI. There will also be a cocktail reception celebrating our Red  Bangle Honorees.
